These terms govern your use of the LawSpeak application and this website. By using LawSpeak you accept them. If you do not accept them, do not use it.
LawSpeak is a reading aid. It recognises the text of a document you provide, describes it in plain language, and shows the sentence in your own document that each point refers to.
LawSpeak is not a lawyer and does not provide legal advice. Nothing it produces is a legal opinion, a legal conclusion, or a substitute for advice from a qualified lawyer in your jurisdiction. No lawyer–client relationship arises from using it.
Do not rely on LawSpeak for a decision with legal or financial consequences. Consult a qualified professional.
LawSpeak uses automated text recognition and automated language analysis. Both can be wrong. Recognition can misread a page; an analysis can miss something important or describe something incorrectly. You are shown the recognised text before analysis so that you can correct it, and every point is presented with the sentence it came from so that you can check it yourself. Please do check it.
Where LawSpeak names a legal rule, it does so only where a source in its reviewed registry supports it. Where no confirmed source exists, it says so rather than supplying one. It does not invent laws, article numbers, citations or links.
While LawSpeak is in its demonstration configuration, the legal references it displays are labelled examples and are not law in force in any jurisdiction.
Your documents remain yours. We claim no rights in them. They stay on your device unless you explicitly enable cloud analysis, in which case only the recognised text — never the page images — is sent for processing, and it is not stored afterwards. This is described in full in the privacy statement.
You are responsible for having the right to submit the documents you submit. Do not use LawSpeak on material you are not permitted to process.
LawSpeak is provided as it is, without a guarantee of availability. The application's local functions work without a network connection; cloud analysis depends on a service that may be unavailable, changed or withdrawn.
To the fullest extent permitted by the law that applies to you, LawSpeak and its operator are not liable for any loss arising from your use of it, including any decision taken on the basis of its output. Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot lawfully be limited, and nothing here removes any consumer rights you have under the law of your own country.
These terms may change. If they change in a way that affects what leaves your device, the application asks for your agreement again rather than relying on an answer you gave to an earlier version. The date at the top of this page is the date of the current version.
